About Hawaii Rental Housing Providers Alliance

It started when we looked across the table and there was no one and no organization representing the independent rental housing provider in Hawaii. The Mom-and-Pop housing providers did not have a seat at the table. Hawaii needs rental housing providers and the homes they provide. Hawaii’s rental housing providers need our rental residents.

Rental housing is an essential part of the housing ecosystem.

The Hawaii Rental Housing Providers Alliance (HRHPA) represents everyday, independent rental housing providers across our islands—local owners, small-scale managers, long-term housing investors, and the community partners who support them. Our mission is to uplift and protect Hawaii’s rental housing ecosystem through strong advocacy, practical education, ethical standards, and reliable, real-world resources tailored for DIY housing providers.

HRHPA believes that responsible rental housing providers are essential to healthy, stable communities. We work to elevate that message at both the county and state levels, giving our members a unified voice in policy discussions that affect private property rights and long-term housing availability.

We equip our members with clear, Hawaii-specific forms, tools, and guidance designed to help them navigate the challenges of providing long-term rentals—so they can protect their homes, their investments, and the families they serve.
